Description

Three men stand on a loading dock at the corner of a frame commercial building painted in contrasting colors. The man on the left appears to be African American. A sign over the storefront reads: "G.M. White & Co. / Four, / Grain / & Feed / Hay / and / Straw." Bales of hay and sacks of grain and flour are piled on the platform, in the shop windows, and one two wagons. One wagon is drawn by two mules and driven by a man wearing a derby hat and overalls. The other wagon is drawn by a horse, blurred from movement, and driven by a man holding a whip. The dirt road is muddy and appears to have trolley tracks in it. Inscribed on back: "East Hartford - successor to A.S. Bailey."
