The second segment, which begins at 12:53, is a feature about a deep freeze which damaged half of Georgia's peach crop. The program features audio excerpts from Jack Gilchrest of the Georgia Department of Agriculture. The third segment, which begins at 17:50, is an interview with University of Rochester historian Eugene Genovese. Genovese argues the South would have retained slavery and attempted to expand its geographical reach had it won the Civil War. A musical number about the song Dixie by an unidentified performer is featured, followed by a brief interview with folk commentator Bud Foote about the South.
