Description

Rick Knupfer, the executive director of the Iowa Humanities Board, talks about the Board's goals and projects. He states that the Board attempts to fund projects that bring academics and Iowa communities together. Knupfer discusses some specific projects that The Board has funded and the multicultural aspect of community projects across Iowa. Peter Nazareth, a native of Uganda, is a Professor of English and African-American World Studies at the University of Iowa. Since 1974, he has been advisor to the University's International Writing Program, which brings writers from around the world to the University of Iowa for semester-long residencies. Over the span of more than thirty years, Nazareth has recorded interviews, seminars, and panel discussions with IWP writers conducted in various settings, including "Humanities at Iowa", a 1980s radio show that aired on WSUI/KSUI.
