Description

Photograph of a glass mosaic bench created by artist Emma Amos in 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia. The colorful design embedded on the bench resembles a patchwork quilt, and the pattern extends to the ground in front of the bench. Several smaller mosaics are embedded in the ground beyond the bench; one depicts a black-and-white rooster. This bench forms part of an art installation designed by Amos for the Ralph David Abernathy Memorial Plaza in Atlanta, which commemorates the legacy of civil rights leader Ralph Abernathy. Amos's installation also includes a bronze chair and a gazebo.
