Description

Milwaukee, WisconsinMy life has been plentiful as a result of an upbringing that was religious and loving. It has been and still is a journey to be the best that I can be and never to waste a minute. Time is precious and I strongly believe that "a mind is a terrible thing to waste."Fannie Lou Hamer, Maya AngelouThe knowledge that blacks gave their lives during the civil rights movement to give me and other blacks the chance to vote and succeed in areas that were closed to us before. This inspired me to be the best that I can be and never to settle for anything less.I see Milwaukee as a city where blacks will be solidly entrenched in political, social and educational issues. We must take control of our own destiny. I see myself as a community organizer, community advocate, and community "watchdog" to lobby for issues that affect black people in this city.President/CEO - The Prince Group Inc.; Vice Chancellor - UWM Partnerships & Innovation; Medical technologist - St. Joseph's Hospital Hematology Department; President - Milwaukee Public Library Board of Trustees; Boards of directors - Froedtert Hospital, Wisconsin Women's Council, American Cancer Society, UW-Milwaukee Alumni Association, Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Healthcare for the Homeless, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wisconsin; Steering committee member - Milwaukee Women Inc.; American Society of Hematology; American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science; Speakers Bureau for the Ronald McDonald House; Citizens' Review Board; Future Milwaukee; National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin; Black Women's Health Project;...
