Class of twenty-one colored women taking the Red Cross course in Home Care of the Sick at San Francisco Chapter Headquarters Building in the Civic Center. This class was organized in April 1919, and most of the members passed their examination above ninety percent and practical work was perfect. The class held its organization and took the course in First Aid and Dietetics. One of the women who had bad eyes had the lessons read to her by her young son in the evening. She passed with a ninety percent grade. Julia Hinkle, Chapter Director of Class Instruction, is organizing other classes among the colored people in San Francisco
