Description
In this folder are letters from James Farmer, SNCC, and COFO asking parents of Freedom Summer volunteers to write letters to politicians, seeking federal protection for their children and publicizing the danger they are in. Letters written by parents in response to this appeal are included in this folder, as well as meeting notes about their efforts to set up a formal Mississippi Project Parents' Committee; to publish a book comprised of volunteers' letters about their work in Mississippi; and to establish a Bail Fund.
