Oral history interviews with Dr. Dorothy Enomoto and Dr. Marion Woods, who were close friends and classmates with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Dorothy Enomoto was a classmate of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and was co-valedictorian with him at Booker T. Washington Senior High School. They became close lifelong friends and she and her husband founded the Sacramento region's annual tribute event to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Marion Woods was also a schoolmate and friend of Dr. King's at Morehouse College. He was the Superintendent of Minority Employment at the California Department of Employment, founder of the Sacramento Urban League, served as Chairperson of the Sacramento Civil Service Commission and was President for the Center for Educational Excellence and Equity in Sacramento. Woods is a former Board Member of both the N.A.A.C.P. and the Women's Civic Improvement Association in Sacramento.
