Holograph, signed.In this letter, James Miller M'Kim discusses the five pounds sent by Maria Weston Chapman. M'Kim says: "The Nation grows in grace & favor." But "Stearns & others of that ilk, finding that it brought no grist to their mill, but rather the contrary, & that Mr. Godkin was a man they could not use nor control have been trying to compel a change of editors, & failing in that have been showing a purpose to break down the paper; ..."
