Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. Red postmarked stamp on last page with "Worcester Apr 16 MA" on it.Charles Turner Torrey writes to Amos A. Phelps regarding the possible dissolution of the American Anti-Slavery Society, citing debts and other complications. He insists that a new abolitionist paper must be started unless the "Freeman" is to be transfered to New York or issued at both places.
