Description

Painting by Kojo Griffin.Griffin's art is very much about exploring reality, as both an individual and collective concept. He explores individual thought and perception as the basis for the social systems in which we participate, but rarely examine. He uses doll-like and animal-headed characters, and eschews recognizable backgrounds to remove his imagery from any specific place or time. To understand the paintings, the viewer is forced to supply the missing information, a step that often leads to an examination of his or her own perceptions of our shared world.Purchase of the Tubman African American Museum.
