Joe Frazier (1944-2011) was a 1964 Olympic gold medalist boxer and World Heavyweight Boxing Champion. His only losses as a professional boxer were to Muhammad Ali and George Foreman . William Sharpe (b. 1932), a Philadelphia native, was a three-time Olympian, winning the 1963 Gold Medal in the men's triple jump. Ira Davis a graduate of Overbrook High School and La Salle University was a three-time Olympic track and field athlete. He was named as an inductee to the 2013 Middle Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame.
