Though he was entreated to speak, William L. Garrison stayed in the background. Garrison commends the speeches of Henry B. Stanton, Charles C. Burleigh, Samuel J. May, and Rev. Theodore S. Wright. The Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society has pledged itself to raise $1,000. William L. Garrison was urged to attend a meeting in Concord, New Hampshire, but does not feel well enough to do so. Garrison gives the contents of a letter from George Thompson. The Board of Managers will raise Garrison's salary, provided he and his family live in BostonMerrill, Walter M.
