A group of children walk down the sidewalk in front of the building.This structure was built in 1916 by contractor Alexander D. Hamilton, working for the firm Hentz, Reid, and Adler of Atlanta, and architect Neel Reid. Known as the "Black City Hall of Atlanta," the YMCA's early members included civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
