Georgia. Governor John Martin
Goodhue, Samuel
Description
Letter of Samuel Goodhue "on hoard the Brig Edward at Savannah" to Governor and Council relating that, since the council orders to libel the sloop Swift with her cargo are directly contrary to his instructions from his owners and since non-compliance to the order is not contrary to the policies of the Continental Board of War, he intends to sail the next day for New Bern, N.C., with his cargo of Negroes on the Swift. If any claims appear they are to be directed to the Judge of the Court of Admiralty at Port Beaufort. Signed Samuel Goodhue
