Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Henry Clarke Wright writes to William Lloyd Garrison "to let off steam," saying that while he can "keep cool & self-restrained among the excited masses" he "should die of Explosion" if he did not write. He tells Garrison that he wishes he could see the "local papers in this region, you would see how deep was the satisfaction of Fremont & how deep the mortification over Lincoln." He also mentions that he has sent Garrison a piece "about the right of the president to reenslave those who are made free by law."
