Pictured (L-R) are Wilma West, Aretha Franklin, Nancy West, Marilyn Cobb, and Barbara Williams at Cheyney State College. Known as the “Queen of Soul,” the multiple Grammy award winning Franklin became the first female to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She was also awarded with a U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2005. She is well known for her ballads, including the chart topping “Respect.”
