Description

View of the installation of the Holocaust Memorial by Elbert Weinberg on the grounds of the Jewish Community Center on Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford, Connecticut. The memorial is in the form of two huge arms holding aloft a shofar. In the slide, one of these arms is in place. The other is being lifted from a large trailer by a crane. The shofar lies on the bed of the trailer. Two of the construction workers appear to be African-American. The West Hartford Holocaust Memorial was dedicated in October 1981. This slide was probably made shortly before that event.
