Rheuben H. Deming grave marker

Description

This marker is located in the central, northern part of Green Ridge Cemetery, the part that was given for cemetery use by Charles Durkee, and is often referred to as the "old part." The inscription reads as follows: "DEMING, Rheuben H. Born, Bennington, Vt. Sept. 15, 1798. Died Kenosha, Wis., Feb. 9, 1867. Here lies the friend of free schools. Our fathers trusted in Thee, They trusted and thou didst deliver them. Mary Ann Dana, his wife, Born Cabot, Vt. Nov. 14, 1804, Died Kenosha, Wis. Dec. 2, 1863. She rests from her labors and her works do follow her."
