Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Manuscript annotated on recto, with "107" in pencil to the left of the opening paragraph, "June 30, 1865" in pencil along top-right margin of page, and "W.H. Herndon" in pencil underneath opening line of text.Wendell Phillips forwards to William Lloyd Garrison a letter by William Henry Herndon, whom Phillips identifies as "the law partner" of President Abraham Lincoln. Phillips informs Garrison that Herndon is composing a biographical work on Lincoln, and requests that Garrison assist Herndon with his inquiries if he is able.
