Description

The other [Under Ground Railroad] station was the Wheeler farm house on the Elgin Road, now Route 31, just north of the Ferson Creek Bridge. Here, too, the slaves were fed and taken care of in the basement until Mr. Wheeler felt it was safe for them to run along through the woods. From "Then and Now" by Alice Cairo.
