Records collected by the Mississippi Sovereignty Commission on civil rights work in Jackson, Mississippi in the spring of 1967. The file contains confidential memos about a racial riot on the campus of Jackson State College in May 1967 as well as notes about civil rights work in the city at that time.The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
