Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. Lauderdale County

Description

This folder contains reports from COFO, SNCC, MFDP and CORE county offices around Mississippi in preparation for a large meeting in Hattiesburg in December of 1964. Reports and correspondence between leadership and members around the state primarly focus on problems within the local offices and within the organizations as a whole. Many reports find blame with the Jackson COFO office, citing bad leadership and inability to finish projects or provide support to sattelite offices. Reports also state a need for black leadership in the counties as well as a need to engage local teenagers.
