Records collected by the Mississippi Sovereignty Commission relating to the monthly report from October 1963. The report focuses on the work of the Coordinating Committee for Fundamental American Freedoms, the Washington, D.C. office working to defeat proposed civil rights legislation. The file also contains a budget for the Washington office and a memorandum to committee members unable to attend the October meeting allowing them to vote on extending the work of the Washington committee from November 1963 to January 1964. Sovereignty Commission publicity mentioned in the file includes distribution of the film "Oxford, U.S.A." and various pamphlets, including a pamphlet of Governor Ross Barnett's testimony against proposed civil rights legislation.
