Phelps.This letter by an unnamed person informs the recipeint about “some strange doing of the church in regard to Deacon Hall’s case.” Deacon Hall stated that “the pastor preached contention” and that “his spiritual wants were not met.” The church decided that this explanation was satisfactory by a unanimous vote. The writer deems this “strange.”
