Describing a case brought against The Scripps-Howard Newspaper for referring in print to a certain saloon owner as a "Portuguese Negro", and in which he shall serve as defense attorney; discussing the social implications of the court's ruling in the matter and emphasizing the weightiness of said judgment; ultimately seeking of the Association "any suggestions or information... as to the present status of the Negro race which will enable me to present adequately the honorable position of that race today."
