Description
Records collected by the Mississippi Sovereignty Commission on comments made by James Meredith in June 1963 criticizing the decision to remove troops from the campus of the University of Mississippi. The file contains an article published in the Clarion Ledger with Meredith's comments, a report and a resolution by the Sovereignty Commission asking the Board of Trustees to investigate Meredith for the comments, and correspondence relating to the resolution.The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
