Description

Records collected by the Mississippi Sovereignty Commission on Charles Evers, brother to murdered Civil Rights worker Medgar Evers. After the 1963 death of Medgar, Charles became the head of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in Mississippi. Evers organized boycotts and other civil rights demonstrations around the state.The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
