Description

Photograph of the northwest corner of Aisquith Street and Ashland Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland. In the windows of this two- and one-half-story brick building on the corner are images of a dark, draped crucifix on a light circle, advertisements for a spiritualist. Down the block on Ashland Avenue are a few African Americans sitting in the shadow of a tree. A half whiskey barrel planter sits on the sidewalk next to the curb just beyond the tree. Tracks are embedded in the roadway, and electric lines for streetcars are suspended above Aisquith Street.
